Lola Kern

Lola KernLola grew up in Iowa City, IA where she began violin studies at the age of 4 as a Suzuki student with Doris Preucil. She traveled with high school and youth orchestras to perform in Europe and later earned a degree in music performance at the University of Iowa. Lola continued private studies with Paul Kantor in Ann Arbor where she also freelanced for 16 years with orchestras in Southeast Michigan. Some of her most favorite past freelance performances include Smokey Robinson, Ray Charles, ELO, Rod Stewart, The Moody Blues and Donny Osmond.

She moved to the Fort Collins area with her family in the fall of 2013 where Lola is rediscovering her love of her violin and chamber music by performing regularly with Four on the Floor under the Fort Collins Chamber Music Society and the Greeley Philharmonic as well as freelancing in the area. Although she happily calls Colorado home now, she still travels back to Michigan several times a year to perform with the Flint Symphony Orchestra in which she is still a proud member.

When her violin isn’t attached to her chin, she loves to road trip, read, eat, drink and be merry with her daughter, husband and wonderful new friends in her new home state.

Lola is a regular performer with, and Vice-President of,  the Fort Collins Chamber Music Society.  Come see them at Crankenstein, New Belgium Brewery, or one of their many performance.  Details here: http://www.fcchambermusic.org.
